My fifteen minutes are up??? The Inside Scoop on American Title 2.

OK, now that I’ve officially been booted off the stage in the American Title 2 Competition, I can tell you about it!

Honestly, I would have said something sooner, but there is an entire process at work where finalists aren’t allowed to reveal the results until the next round of voting begins.

Wow, what a ride. It is probably the most intense thing I’ve personally had to go through as far as nail-biting tension, and that’s saying something since I’ve done things like gone to live tapings for clients in New York, had to speak to rooms full of people and given birth at home with a midwife!

We’ve had a very supportive group of finalists with our own private loop and even though I’m not in the running, I’m still in on the loop cheering the other finalists on.

A word about chocolate…you can never have too much “vitamin c” around when you need it!

I was sad to hear about getting booted out, but determined not to become a wreck. Afterall I sent in all my material back in Novemeber (yes, they made all of us send every entry for each round in at the very beginning.) I hated being verbally shredded by “Flay-via”, but who knew virgin widows were her sore spot? There was very little I could do about it once I found out since we weren’t allowed to edit the entries once they were sent in.

There’s this weird mixture of relief when you make it to the next round and agony for everyone who didn’t. (That was round one.) Then when you don’t make it and everyone is in agony for you, all you can feel is shock. “What did I do wrong?” Well, I’ve done what any self-respecting writer determined to get published does, I got back to work.

So what now? I’ve started submitting to agents and seeing if there is editorial interest in the book. The good news is that I still have a chance to get it published. Please keep your fingers, toes and other, um, extremedes crossed for me!

If you’d like to get the news of when I finally do publish, let me know and I’ll put you on a notification list. For those of you who want to know more pr stuff for writers, you can always find out where I’m giving classes next.

In February I’m doing an online course for writers about book PR. Check out this link to find out more, the registration deadline was Jan. 25th, but email and you might still get in! Carolina Romance Writers February courses

I can’t wait to Devil’s Maiden, Theresa. I for one, happen to be very intrigued by virgin widows!
